Classes

Active Aging – A Senior Fitness Program

Active Aging is a 9-week group fitness class for individuals 60+ focusing on improvements to balance, strength, flexibility, mobility and body awareness. Classes are every Wednesday at 4:15pm starting January 3rd until February 28th, 2024. Each class will be approx. 30-45 minutes.

If registered by January 1, 2024, the cost is $0 for PRF members and $40 for non-members. After January 1, the cost to register is $10 for PRF members, $50 for non-members. Drop-ins to individual classes are welcome at $10/class.

Class Instructors:

  • Taegen Walter – A native of Lincoln County, Taegen graduated from KSU with a B.S. in Kinesiology and teaches Total Body Reset classes at the NCK Wellness Center in Beloit. She also owns Taegen Walter Fitness & Coaching with the goal of helping women find confidence through a sustainable health and fitness journey.
  • Ericka Schroeder – Besides being a regular yoga instructor at Elysium Studios in McPherson, Ericka has been leading Community Yoga classes at Post Rock Fitness on the first Wednesdays of the month over the course of the year.

Class Schedule:

  • January 3 – Chair Yoga with Ericka Schroder
  • January 10 – Strength & Balance with Teagen Walter
  • January 17 – No class, open gym instead for participants who want to exercise on their own
  • January 24 – Strength & Balance with Teagen Walter
  • January 31 – Strength & Balance with Teagen Walter
  • February 7 – Chair Yoga with Ericka Schroder
  • February 14 – Strength & Balance with Teagen Walter
  • February 21 – Strength & Balance with Teagen Walter
  • February 28 – Strength & Balance with Teagen Walter

To register, call or text Kelly Gourley at 785-524-9009. Kelly will text a reminder to registered participants every Wednesday morning.

Community Yoga

Every Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. and lasts 45-60 minutes. Classes are informal mostly utilizing DVDs or YouTube videos except for the first Wednesday of the month when an instructor leads the class. No experience, skill, or talent required. A few yoga mats are available if needed. Bring a towel if extra cushion on your knees is needed.

Cost is $0 for PRF members, $10/class for non-members. Non-members purchase a Walk-In Pass for the class which also allows full-access to the gym equipment after the class to continue your workout if desired.

The policy on children at Community Yoga is 1) parents are allowed to bring an infant as long as the infant is secured in a car seat, stroller or small pack-n-play and does not have the ability to wiggle free, and 2) 10-15 year olds are allowed as long as they are accompanied by a pre-approved designated adult providing direct supervision at all times.
